espresso/ concentrated coffee beverage (thicker consistency than coffee) brewed forcing hot water under high pressure through coffee grounds.
americano/ coffee prepared by combining hot water and espresso. similar strength of regular drip coffee, but different flavor.
macchiato/ espresso with a dollop (a tiny amount; a smidge) of foamed milk; a small-sized drink.
cappuccino/ espresso with steamed milk added and foamed milk on top (5-6 oz. drink; half the milk of a latte).
latte/ 1/3 espresso, 2/3 steamed milk, with a layer of foamed milk (larger drink than cappuccino with twice the milk).
café au lait/ 1/2 coffee, 1/2 steamed milk. (it's just coffee and steamed milk; don't try to make it more complicated).
kick-in-the-pants/ 2 doubles (4 shots of espresso) and a glob (similar to a smidge; a dollop) of whipped cream topped with whole coffee legumes.
mocha/ 1/3 espresso, 2/3 steamed milk plus chocolate.
chai (masala chai)/ spiced, milky sweet tea.
the stully/ decaff espresso over a packet of sweet'n'low, with sugar free hazelnut and steamed fat free milk. if you believe bill mahar's theory that the longer your coffee order is, the bigger the ass you are, well...hee haw! want to go bigger? ask for half-caff or a dollop of whip cream. |
